Will I receive the study drug if I participate in this trial?

During the first treatment period, 2 in 3 (66%) of the participants will receive the study drug, while 1 in 3 (33%) will receive a placebo. During the second treatment period, all participants (100%) will receive the study drug.

Will I receive a placebo if I participate in this trial?

The study consists of two treatment periods. During the first treatment period, 1 out of 3 (33%) study participants will receive a placebo in this study. A placebo is not an active drug. Placebos are used in clinical research studies to ensure that the medical changes being logged are not happening by chance. During the second treatment period, all participants (100%) will receive the study drug.

Are trial-related medical expenses covered?

You do not have to pay for the investigational study drug or study procedures that are not part of your routine medical care. However, you may be responsible to pay for routine medical care that may be performed during the trial, some of which may be covered by your insurance.

If I participate, can I continue my current medications?

You may be able to continue taking some medications that have already been prescribed for your HS. Your study doctor will tell you which medications you can continue, and which ones you may need to stop while participating in the study.

What if I want to discontinue my participation in the study?

Participants are able to stop study participation if they wish. Your consent to participate in the study can be revoked at any time. This will not have consequences for your future care by the physicians.

What is a study site?

Study sites are medical facilities where study-related activities will occur. Sites are staffed by doctors, nurses, research scientists, and administrative support teams.

Who do I speak to if I have questions?

After you complete the online pre-screener, you will have the opportunity to ask a study representative questions about the study. Medical staff who are conducting the study locally will meet with all participants before enrollment. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, and you will receive a written document outlining study requirements, risks, and treatment.

How can I qualify?

The first step to trial participation is to take the online screener. You will be notified in real time if your medical conditions match study requirements. If you qualify online, a study representative will follow up with additional information about your eligibility.
